Re: Repacing Chatbox (parachat) with RumbleTalk
No. The problem I have concerns how I set up the RumbleTalk chat group in the Stoupa webpage. Do I embed it?
It appears fairly straightforward if the RumbleTalk instructions are followed.I assume that it will operate in much the same way as the Parachat package. Can I load it in parallel with the existing Chatbox?
The Rumbletalk option is a floating icon, but I am unsure about this.

Re: Repacing Chatbox (parachat) with RumbleTalk
Both options are possible: use 'Webpage embed' if you want it to be a part of your forum layout OR use 'Floating embed' if you want it to be visible after user has clicked a button.
And yes, you can run RumbleTalk and Forumotion Chatbox both at the same time.

Re: Repacing Chatbox (parachat) with RumbleTalk
Please note that when you add the outside hosted chatbox it will not replace our one it will just run a a new chatbox so you will have 2 chaterboxes your one hosted by us and your one hosted outside of FM.
If you have a hosted chatbox then I would say remove our one.
I also get a problem when trying to see your forum address Stoupa.forumotion.com
if you have anything hosted outside of your forum in say widgets then i would remove any links to other sites.
Right now your site send's me HERE!!

Re: Repacing Chatbox (parachat) with RumbleTalk
Hi.
I followed your link and I saw that image fleetingly earlier today - I took it to be a glitch. But I can still access stoupa.forumotion.com, and the existing chatbox still works.
Is the problem at your end? Is it something to do with servers?
Incidentally I cannot get RumbleTalk to embed. I am waiting for a response from their support team.
I am in the UK.

Hello,
In regards to adding RumbleTalk or any other chatroom for that matter, you would only be able to add it to your forum if the installation codes are html, css or javascript. Anything else would require access to the database, which we do not give to anyone.

Re: Repacing Chatbox (parachat) with RumbleTalk
The problem with your forum is you have a widget installed on your forum and it has a link in that redirects members to the page i have told you about in my last post.
This is NOT anything from our end my advice is to turn off any widgets you may have installed and any other things you may have added to your forum.

Re: Repacing Chatbox (parachat) with RumbleTalk
OK No offence meant. Chatbox has expired, which means we'll use Facebook until we can embed RumbleTalk.

Re: Repacing Chatbox (parachat) with RumbleTalk
That's a good question - He/she may not still be with us! Age of forum members ranges between 40 and 80!
So far our enquiries have yielded nothing.
The RumbleTalk procedure for embedding is to copy and paste html script into the space for the chat room.It then loads javascript.
When I try this nothing happens.
I don't have java on this machine; I have tried loading the latest version without success. The operating system is XP SP3, and the AV is AVG Internet Security 18.8.3071

Re: Repacing Chatbox (parachat) with RumbleTalk
I have found the HTML and Javascript tool under the Modules tab. I have emailed RumbleTalk to find out exactly what it will insert. In the meantime, I have attached jpegs of the Forum Homepage, the javascript page.
The code is shown below:

Re: Repacing Chatbox (parachat) with RumbleTalk
Sadly this forum is not really the right place to ask about any chatbox hosted outside of our systems.
the best thing to do is copy and paste the code they give you and then post it here then we can look in to how you could install the code,
Right now we are still having problems seeing your forum as it keeps giving the same link as i gave in my last post so we can't see your forum.
try and add the chatbox in the following place.

FYI the link to the homepage is stoupa.forumotion.com/ as is.
When I look at display/homepage/generalities, I see existing script.
Before I clear the box to insert the chat script I need to know the consequences of clearing the existing script.

Re: Repacing Chatbox (parachat) with RumbleTalk
Yes I see and understand what you are saying.
This is what I do to get on the site:-
1. I open the Stoupa forum successfully by typing Stoupa into the Search box on google or Bing, and selecting the link presented. I am then able to login personally or as Admin.
2. I attempt to access the Portal using the Portal button on the Home page
3. Eventually, having passed through several displays, I finish up in a widgetserver.com webpage in a new tab. This occurs whether I am logged in or not.
If I right-click on that page, under Console there is a message shown below:
Synchronous XMLHttpRequest on the main thread is deprecated because of its detrimental effects to the end user’s experience. For more help http://xhr.spec.whatwg.org/ js3caf.js:121:4
uncaught exception: google.ads.domains.Caf: container "searchbox" does not exist.
In the Inspector tab there is a reference to www.w3.org.
It seems to me that you are somehow the Homepage is being bypassed and you are being directed to the portal.
When I return to the tab with the homepage displayed, I can carry on logging in etc.
Are you using Firefox/google to access the site, or do you have another way of of accessing it?

Re: Repacing Chatbox (parachat) with RumbleTalk
Hi Brandon_G
That is good news. Is this the first time you have tried to access the site?
I inspected Display/Homepage/generalities/General - the forum address leads to Forum Index.
I also looked under Headers and Navigation. At the bottom of the list is the Chat box.
The link for this is /Chat-Box-h2.htm?sid=bad312d7d6bdeec64389cfa6bf6e29fe. This is no longer active. It will be deleted.
I do have script from RumbleTalk to embed a chatroom, which is included earlier in this topic. I do not know where it should be inserted.

Re: Repacing Chatbox (parachat) with RumbleTalk
okay I have worked this out for you
copy the code they gave you.
Now go to your page i asked you to go to before in my steps
Now in your editor you will see this
make sure the button is white looking, past the code gave by the site in the big box like this
Now before you save you need to press the white button,
then the code will go away and you will see nothing, (Don't worry the code is now working but you can't see it).
Now you must save it to our system by pressing save.
Now look at your forum and you will see your chat box.
The code you have installed in that part already is this in your main forum
so it's upto you if you want to have the chat box there or not
