Description of problem

Our non-profit is looking into setting up a bulletin board. In looking around, I've found several sites that offer this service. Some of the sites charge a monthly fee; for those that don't, their bb display ads. The ads, however, can be removed by paying a monthly fee.

Anyway, I'm not seeing any charge for this bb nor am I seeing ads. In addition to wondering about costs, I also have the following questions:

We are potentially interested in subscribing to your forums service. Can you tell me which of the features below you offer?

Ability to limit access to a group of registered users for posting and the ability to see forum content
Ability for users to subscribe and unsubscribe
Ability to pin certain threads at the top of the forum
Ability to search the forums
Ability to add some configurable attributes or tags to posts
Ability for a user to indicate whether they want to receive individual notifications for any new posts
Ability to a user to indicate they want to receive a daily digest of all new posts.
Ability to add attachments
Ability to create polls
Ability to view usage statistics
Administration / moderator tools
Ability to upvote or like a post
Ability to filter to view unanswered posts
Ability to respond via e-mail vs. logging in to forum

We are looking to potentially set up a few closely related forums based on specific topics. If we were to separate our topics into a few separate forums would your fees be applied to each forum?

Is there a page in Support that will help me with this info? Thank you for any help.

Rich

Ability to a user to indicate they want to receive a daily digest of all new posts.

If I understand this correctly, the answer would be yes.  Members can set these options in their profiles.  Also they can watch a forum or topic for new topics and replies.

Please change the title of your topic to something that is related to your question/issue, so that other users will be able to find their question/issue using the search engine.

Hello,

In regards to our paid subscription packages and what you can do in the different packages, please read this topic which explains our package system quite well: https://help.forumotion.com/t155627-forumotion-packages.

Solved Additional information

Post by rgw March 6th 2019, 4:31 pm

Jadster ...

I was looking for a quick tutorial on using Forumotion's forums ... haven't found one yet, so forgive my ineptitude ...

To answer your questions:
Ability to add some configurable attributes or tags to posts ~ Can you explain more? We're thinking tags for organization such as "software" or "mileage" for example, to connect a post to a category.

Ability to view usage statistics ~ Can you explain more? See how many users are reading the thread, and who, if possible?

Ability to respond via e-mail vs. logging in to forum ~ Can you explain more? I believe this assumes that the user would receive an email of a given post. The user would be able to hit "reply" and the reply would post to the thread.

I've found the "package" page (https://help.forumotion.com/t155627-forumotion-packages). I appreciate the breakdown of features that can be accessed in which package. At this point, my question, is, what is the cost? It appears to be through the purchase of credits. (I'm in the US, so is there a conversion to USD?)

Thank you.

Rich Williams

Thanks for more information.  If you mean reply to a post on your forum from an email, the answer will be no.

The one about tags for posts.  You can use the hashtag system.

Examples:

#Forumotion

#ModernBB
