Account Hacked Again

Description of problem

My user account has been compromised again. I was at my forum for most of the day and evening. I logged out for one hour or less, but when I came back to sign in, I was given the message that my user name or password was incorrect.

I know that I used the very same username and password that I had used this morning.

I changed my email address last week and the verification code here at Forumotion said my email was the "old" email that I changed a week ago.

I am locked out of my account and worried that my forums will be ripped apart after I've worked an entire week on setting the permissions and trying to get members adjusted as normal.

I don't know if I need to have a brand new user ID or what. Please help and I apologize if I didn't post in the correct spot. It seems each time I post about a problem here, I do something wrong.

Hello are you the founder of the forum ?

If yes can i ask if you have your Email address posted on your forum?

When i say posted on your forum i mean do you give this email address out to anyone on your site or anyone outside of the site?

We advice you never use the email address for anything other then your forums and if you send a news letter out use the FM address in your ACP not your own one.

It's never safe to give your email address out that is used on your forum.

Yes I am the founder/Owner. I don't think my email shows at my forum. I changed my email last week because someone had hacked my account before and changed my settings to member and taken control of my forum.

I did use my email that is on my main source which is my iPhone when I changed my email last week. I also changed my password again because I'm afraid of the person who hacked me the first time will do the same again and it looks like it has happened again just yesterday evening.

I did clear the cookies and history from my browser as suggested, but that is done upon sign out, automatically.

I am thinking that I may need to change my user ID, but I don't want to lose my post count or the points that I've accumulated over the past years.

I just don't know what to do.

This is the message that I receive while trying to login. I have tried to login using both my computer and phone, but get the same message. I know that my password is correct and I have had the same user name for years.

You have specified an incorrect or inactive username, or an invalid password.

Changing your username does not affect post and point counts.

I do want to mention that one of the other members can't sign in either. Could there possibly be an issue with one of the servers? I had another member who could not sign in yesterday. My problem did not begin until yesterday evening.

Someone has to be hacking my account. I say this because a member messaged me just a few moments ago, at Messenger, and told me that she received a message yesterday that the group has reopened. I did not send the message and the few members who are there, know that I want to wait until I redo the forums which will take only a few days.

No, I do not. I'm it.

While on my phone, I use fingerprint ID. While on the pc, I copy/paste. I'll try manually typing in my last pw that I created to see if that will allow access. I will update this post to let you know after I've tried.

Update: I tried name and pw, but still locked out and receiving the very same message.
Is there any way you guys could set up a new password on your end to allow access. I've tried everything. I've been locked out for almost 24 hours.

Yes, I did, but I haven't heard back from him. I'm hoping that I can get this resolved without losing posts and points.

I do want to tell you something that I've noticed today. My portal needed work on one of the scrolls between the two videos. I have not had time to fix that problem, but today when I looked at my Portal page, the scroll was placed where it should be. I honestly think someone is hacking my account and changing the password so that I cannot enter. It has to be someone who understands the codes. If I can just gain access to the AP again, I could contact my members and start a new group under a new name and maybe this person, whoever he/she is, would leave me be.

I have tried, but can't get the password or email address correct.
Is the pw the founder's pw? That is the one that I'm using.


Update: I tried again and entered a new password. The next screen brought up an "edit complete," but an old email address. I can still use the old one for now, even though I changed that old to a new email a few days ago.

Update: It doesn't work. I get the same message. I can't even register a new account, yet it shows the new user account at the bottom as being New Member. I could never sign in with that name.

Update: I am still locked out of my forum. It has been well over 24 hours since I've had access.
There are two other members of my group having the same issue. They cannot sign in.

I have username and pw on iPhone and use fingerprint and on computer I've tried typing it in as well as pasting.
I have just downloaded a new browser and going to try the browser, but it is installing atm.

My personal feeling is that this is not a hack situation
Did you put your forum in a holiday mode?

Try this:  Turn off the feature in your browser that saves your login information and then try logging in.

I've tried that as well as saving the information.

No, I mean turning it off and then try logging in.
