First topic message reminder :
I am suggesting that we have the option to edit or remove the timeout time for the chatbox. It gets irritating when we get kicked out of the chatbox after a shortwhile of inactivity.

While this particular issue (not really an issue, but I digress...) is really just a minor incovenience (after all, you can just click 'login', not that hard...), I would like to see some way for us to set some sort of time limit ourselves.

Well while it may not be too hard to click 'login' it is annoying to members of some forums, maybe not yours, but think about it... this is supposed to be forum chatbox now you go to make a few posts and BAM you come back to being logged out, you can imagine the annoyance. I understand why the feature is there, I just would like the option as an admin (or even the user) to have a little tick box, that is all. If it were just me I do not much care, but my members dis like this annoyance and it should be about them. That is all I am asking for, A CHOICE.

And I understand this, as it often occurs to me as well. I frequent several other forums and it does get annoying when I come back from one of them to see that I've been logged off of the chat. I'd like for there to be an option to change the amount of time needed before you are automatically logged out of the chatbox.

That is a whole different suggestion. As of right now, I would find it useful to give us the option to disable, extend the chat timeout all together.
I will say your suggestion fits that of one for a live streaming website. You can suggestvthis if you want, but it has been an up hill battle just trying to get them to give us THE option of disabling the chat due to the amount of request.... webcams.... it wont happen. It will use up all the bandwidth and server requests.

Voted YES even though I open the chatbox in an own window so I can see it even if I am at posting else where.

Either remove (as it's almost useless)
or edit the time.
Someone who hasn't been active for a long time in chat will be automatically logged out of the forum so I see no reason to put a time out on the chat as well.
On the forum if you go inactive/ logged out after 1 hour of inactivity, what's the point kicking me out of chat 30 mins after inactivity???
