First topic message reminder :

Hello,

Do you see a grammar error or miss spelling? Post the original piece along with the correct version.

To ensure that its being looked at and to help locate this issue, please provide a screenshot and the location.

Example:

Admin Panel >> General >> Configuration

As of right now, this topic will only support English languages. Once we have more translators, the language will be added to the list. Not all translations will be updated right away as it will be reviewed before going public to ensure the updated version is correct.

Thanks for your help!

Grammar Errors - Page 8 Empty Text problem

Post by Militia Dei July 16th 2019, 5:40 pm

Hi,

I have a problem with a letters on my forum.

It was founded many years ago. It uses the Czech language from the beginning. But now, a few days before, the all letters "ž" and "š" and some others changed to "ž" (unidentifiable letter) and in the new posts are already correct, or when I rewrite them, manually. Of course, I can't rewrite circa twenty thousands posts. Sad

Never been this problem. I fear that twenty thousands of posts will remain in this bad condition. It's almost impossible to read them. Sad

I noticed at another forum, also in Czech language, that also have the same problem. So what can we do about it?

Thanks.

Hello Militia Dei,

This issue seems to come from an encoding problem. The technical team will try to solve this problem on your forum this week. The correct characters should appear tomorrow I think.

Can you give us the internet address of the second forum on which you identified the same problem with this character please?

Grammar Errors - Page 8 Empty Re: Grammar Errors

Post by The Godfather July 17th 2019, 9:38 am

Hello,

Our technical teams have found 5 forums that were converted 15 days ago in UTF8. Including the forums listed above.

It is this encoding change that caused the problems with certain characters. We will improve the conversion tool to handle these special characters in the future.

On the other hand, there is a negative point. Our technical team to solve the encoding problems on these forums, had to restore an old version of the forum. There may have been deleted messages or members (activity of the last 15 days).

Can you tell us if you see any problems on your side?

Also, did you make a UTF8 encoding conversion request in the administration panel?

Thank you

That's exactly the same thing happened on the found forum.
http://roknostalgija.serbianforum.info/forum

During the last 10 days, there have been errors in the complete forum, subforums, topics and posts.
There was no solution to the problem, nor did it know how it came to him, but we continued to work on it.
The highlight of everything happened on the afternoon when everything was returned 16 days ago, on July 2, and everything that was in the meantime written in the forum and added to new topics and posts has been deleted.
I already wrote about it tonight ...
https://help.forumotion.com/t157735-problem-with-returning-posts-for-a-period-of-16-days-ago#1093953

Not knowing that this topic was launched a few days ago with a similar problem.
I stressed that I am not the founder of the forum, but we have been the main admin for many years, because the founder has withdrawn from this business.

Thanks.

Here on the support forum, the description of the ForumsClub Support Section category is:
For all your questions about ForumsClub.com, the site dedicated to Advenced Collaborative Communities.
e should be changed to an a.
This is insignificant but has been annoying me for a while lol!

Done

This topic is exactly for all forums, not just the support forum.  If there is an error here, please send a PM to a staff member.
